Carolina Off Road Extremists (CORE) was founded by a group of individuals who enjoy
"Jeeping" and being outdoors. CORE is open to all types of 4-wheel drive vehicles and
drivers of all skill levels.
CORE is a family-oriented club comprised of members in all walks-of-life with a variety
of ages and skill levels. Members are welcome and encouraged to bring their family,
friends, and children to club events. Members range in age from the early 20’s to the
late 60’s and include members who have been off-roading their entire lives to those
who are driving off-road for the first time.
Members drive an array of vehicles from stock to heavily modified including (but not
limited to) late model Jeeps, newer Jeep Wranglers and Rubicons, Cherokee's,
Bronco's, Nissan’s, Toyota’s. and tube chassis buggies. If your vehicle is stock or
mildly modified, don’t be deterred. We all enter the sport at different levels and CORE
is eager to help further your off-road knowledge, confidence, and ability. CORE goes to
great lengths to ensure that all trips have aspects that challenge all in attendance
relative to each person’s individual skill level or vehicle capability. Our intent is for
everyone to enjoy the trips. Areas that may force drivers to approach obstacles beyond
their comfort level or vehicle capability are avoided by the group, whether it be due to
raw difficulty or lack of trail bypasses. These areas may be traversed by those who
individually choose.
We have an active club schedule which includes one club-sanctioned run every month
during our ‘season’ and monthly club meetings are held all year. Past club trips have
included runs to Uwharrie National Forest in NC, Gulches OHV Park in SC, The Flats in
NC, The Farm in NC, Callalantee in TN, Windrock in TN, Harlan in KY, and other
locations in the southeastern US. For additional information about CORE or to contact
