I wanted to thank everyone who came out to the year end run, and also to everyone for a great year of wheeling. With runs to uwharrie, gulches, Harlan, Windrock, and the Flats, it has been a fun and busy year. We have had a dinner get together every month and July 4th cookout. This past weekend we had 16 rigs at one point at Uwharrie and a big crowd for the raffle and cookout Saturday night.I think we ran every trail at Uwharrie this weekend. Saturday we ran slab pile to dutch John and then we split into two groups, with one half circling around to go up Daniel and the other half to the top side of Daniel. Sunday we ran through Dickey Bell and then went back to camp to have a quick lunch and to break camp. Every one did a great job and we had minimal carnage, with Jason Lewis cutting a tire on Dutch John. It also turns out that new member Josh Listhaus bent up some of his undercarriage at some point over the weekend.Saturday night we had the annual awards. John Stowe won the Skinny Pedal (aka the Hold My Beer and Watch This award) for his continued assault on every trail. Eric Velazquez won "Most Improved". Eric has continued to improve since he began as a complete newbie last year. David Conkin won the Rusty Wrench award for his troubles with breakage this past year.I also was surprised with a gift Saturday night from the directors and members of the club. I really can't express adequately how much I appreciate the recognition, but my favorite part of the events is really the fellowship with the other members and sharing in a common interest. It is the members, both new and old, that make this club successful and continue to grow, and I look forward to much, much, more wheeling in the years to come. Thanks again, and thanks for a great year..
